COURSE OVERVIEW (课程简介) Organizations and managers in the tourism and hospitality industry face real challenges in recruiting, developing and maintaining a committed, competent, well-managed and well-motivated workforce which is focused on offering a high-quality‘product’ to the increasingly demanding and discerning customer. This course has been designed to equip you with some of the fundamental issues in contemporary ‘HRM’. Therefore, to provide a practical overview of the key areas of human resource (HR) practice at organization level; and to develop a critical awareness of the possibilities and problems of using HR/Personnel techniques and ‘best practice’ in various organizations. OBJECTIVES (课程目标) 1.to understand the nature of tourism and hospitality industry and the challenges in their HRM system 2.to understand the roles of HRM. 3.to understand the recruitment and selection methodologies and its strategies setting. 4.to understand and apply the effectiveness of job analysis techniques as well as discuss the form of the job description 5.to understand the conception of job burnout and its impact to the individuals and organizations they work for, as well as the cause and minimizing the negative effect through job redesign. 6.to discuss and apply training system model and a concept of learning organization 7.to recognize and understand importance of performance management system and its process. 8.to understand the compensation model / reward management and discuss the importance of its strategy.
